Unseen 2012, the first edition of the photography fair ever, was a huge success. We were there from the beginning to the end and enjoyed every minute of it. Hundred of international galleries presented their extraordinary works. The overall vibe was great and very refreshing and inspiring.
To the fair, Galerie Alex Daniels – Reflex Amsterdam will be bringing Daido Moriyama, Hisaji Hara, Phyllis Galembo (who was invited to the 55th International Exhibition at the 2013 Venice Biennale) and David LaChapelle and is “curious to see what the international galleries are bringing and to compare how things have developed since last year”. What did the gallery think about its Unseen 2012 experience? “There was a continuous energy and I really liked the design of the fair… The good team-work between exhibitors and organization as well as the good PR work…was all very refreshing”. Amsterdam also seems to be the perfect spot for a new photography fair as the city “is getting more international with more collectors becoming aware and visiting Amsterdam to find new talent and to see what’s going on in the field of photography and art in general”. For those of you thinking of starting collecting yourself: “Follow your instincts. Inform yourself and [ask yourself whether] a work directly affects you. After all, you have to enjoy it daily”.
We have some surprises in store for you, just be patient and stay tuned about the Unseen photography fair (26-29 September 2013)! We will keep you updated about the fair on the blog. See you there!
