Claes Oldenburg (1929) is an originally Swedish and now American sculptor from Stockholm, he now works and lives in New York. He’s one of the most noted artists from the Pop Art movement. Oldenburg is especially known for his larger than life replica’s of every day objects in public spaces, such as his Free Stamp outside of Cleveland’s city hall, and Clothespin in Philadelphia. He also creates soft sculpture versions of everyday objects, such as Soft Bathtub (Model)-Ghost Version which is a replica of a bathtub made out of foam filled canvas.
