Damien Hirst (1965) is a British artist from Bristol. He’s one of the main members of the Young British Artists group. His best-known pieces are animals he preserved in formaldehyde-filled tanks, such as a shark, cow and sheep. In 2009 he made a platinum cast from an 18th century skull, which he covered in 8601 diamonds, called For the Love of God, considered the most expensive artwork ever created.
