John Waters (1946) is an American filmmaker/actor/writer/visual artist from Baltimore. Waters is especially known for his controversial and transgressive cult films such as Pink Flamingos and Polyester, Hairspray was recently remade. Since the early 1990’s Waters has been making photo-based artwork and installations. His pieces are often comical and serve up a dose of twisted reality.
