Mahomi Kunikata (1979) is a Japanese artist from Kanagawa. Takashi Murakami, who invited her to participate in his GEISAI event in 2000, discovered her work and launched her into the art world. Her work is highly influenced by erotic Manga and the Otaku culture, communicating topics such as depression, abandonment, masochism and sex via raw and sketchy Manga-like figures. The result is powerful and innovative, and both inviting and disturbing.
