Daido Moriyama at LACMA

19 April 2012

The work of Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama is immediately recognizable: gritty, grainy and often in black & white, Moriyama depicts Japanese urban life in a very innovative and intensely personal manner.
No matter when they are shot, the photographs remain relevant today, maybe even more than when they were taken.

From April 7th to July 31st, the LACMA museum in Los Angeles exhibits Fracture: Daido Moriyama, a selection of Moriyama’s photography. From his famous black & white photographs, which he started shooting in the mid-1960’s, to recent work shot in colour. Definitely worth the visit for everybody who loves photography.

Should you not be able to travel that far: on April 19th Moriyama will exhibit new works at Reflex Amsterdam.
Naturally Famous Auction House will keep you informed about this exhibition, so keep an eye out for more news on Daido Moriyama.
