New at Famous: L.O.V.E. by Maurizio Cattelan

Since last week, we have a stunning new item in our inventory: L.O.V.E. by Maurizio Cattelan! Available in 3 versions (Snowball, Carillon and Concrete), this high quality reproduction of the famous and controversial sculpture that was installed at the Piazza Affari in Milan back in 2010 will surely add something special to your interior.

Maurizio Cattelan, artist and provoker

The original artwork was placed in front of the Italian stock exchange. Including the base, it was a whopping 11 meters high, and it was only on view for 10 days. With the imagery of a classical monument the artist starts a dialogue with the past while mocking his surroundings. The controversial work is unmistakably contemporary too, being produced at the height of the financial crisis and placed between the bourse and the public. Provoking the city’s administrators, who refused the donation, the work mocks all ‘isms’, according to Maurizio Cattelan.

Three versions of L.O.V.E. available at Famous

Visit our store or our website to add this eye-catching work to your collection. But be quick, we only have a limited quantity in stock. Prices start at €55 incl. VAT for the Carillon and the Snowball. The Concrete version costs €145.

Maurizio Cattelan (1960) is an Italian artist from Padova. He’s known for his satirical sculptures and his reputation within the art scene as a joker. His best-known work is La Nona Ora (The Ninth Hour) a sculpture that depicts Pope John Paul II dressed in ceremonial gear and being hit by a meteorite. Cattelan’s art makes fun of various systems of order, including the artistic establishment. We also have his The Wrong Gallery multiple available.
