Little over two decades ago, FAMOUS Amsterdam (est. 2000) opened its doors as a memorabilia shop, and has, over the years, evolved into an art, book and exclusive collectibles store. 

From our first sold item - a bed used by Madonna during her Blond Ambition tour -, today, FAMOUS holds an incredibly diverse art, book and collectibles collection encompassing world-class artists such as David LaChapelle, Miles Aldridge, Harland Miller, Erwin Olaf, Takashi Murakami, Nobuyoshi Araki, Jean-Michel Basquiat, JR, Arman, Jeff Koons, KAWS, or Damien Hirst, to only name a few. 

As we’ve shown over the last two decades, we’re never standing still, and our collection is ever-expanding. We’re an exclusive seller of Andy Warhol x Flavor Paper wallpapers and of Harland Miller deck chairs.

Our Skateroom collection spans skateboard deck art featuring the work of JR, Louise Bourgeois, Keith Haring or Cindy Sherman, among many others. Our book collection was recently enriched with new TASCHEN books, and we’ve expanded our artist collection with items by Kehinde Wiley, Gavin Turk and Helen Beard. 

FAMOUS is housed in the 9th Chapter of the The Collection Offices - bespoke and high-quality spaces at prestigious monumental addresses in the city of Amsterdam -, on the corner of Weteringschans 83. The building itself is a uniquely modern masterpiece: a striking and spacious structure completed in 1983, complete with a beautiful roof terrace on the second floor that overlooks the stunning Lijnbaansgracht.

Over the last months, we decided to start fresh and have fully renovated our physical space. Old and new friends are wholeheartedly welcome to visit our store in the heart of Amsterdam’s art district, just right behind the Rijksmuseum!
