Erwin Olaf (1959) is a Dutch photographer from Hilversum, he now works and lives in Amsterdam. Olaf came into fame in the mid-1980’s to early 1990’s with his provocative photographic series Squares and Chessmen that depicted naked elderly men with erections, and little people paired with fat women, often in bondage clothing. His style has changed over the years, from being overly sexually explicit to a more subdued tone in his more recent series like Rain and Hope. Olaf also creates editorials for several magazines, as well as advertisements for Diesel and Lavazza among others.
