Queen’s Day Levitating Self-Portrait by Natsumi Hayashi!

27 June 2013

A couple of weeks ago, we wrote a blog post about Natsumi Hayashi, the wife of photographer Hisaji Hara. We were so enthusiastic about her “Levitating self-portraits”, that we could not not write something about this amazing artist. A while ago, she was in Amsterdam with her husband Hisaji to visit Hisaji’s show at Galerie Alex Daniels – Reflex Amsterdam. This was around Queens Day, and this happy and colorful national day inspired her to make a levitating self-portrait in Amsterdam. In this special Queens Day photograph, it looks like Natsumi is floating through the streets of Amsterdam in the middle of hundreds of orange flags and red, white and blue flags! It is amazing and fun, and shows the Queens Day feeling very well!

She has made this Queen’s Day photograph in a miniature version for the Miniature Museum by Ria and Lex Daniels, which will open upcoming September at the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague. Make sure to check this photograph out in September, and of course lots of other miniature art works by other amazing artists!
